As Journalist :
Aalok has worked with renowned media houses of India including the leading newspaper and channel Dainik Bhaskar, Aajtak, India TV & DD for nearly two decades. He is an expert in producing documentaries and mega shows based on news and views. He conceptualised and produced the first outdoor election road show for Aajtak. He was also the producer of several other big shows and award winning documentaries India TV & AajTak. As a Sr. Advisor with Doordarshan, he played an important role as a member of the relaunch team of DD National, DD India and DD Kisan.
In Literature :
Aalok's Aameen (Poetry Collection) and Aafreen (Story Collection) are most critically acclaimed literary works so far. Such is the demand for his poems and ghazals that they have been translated in Russian and Japanese besides various Indian languages including Gujarati, Marathi and Punjabi. Aameen has already gone into many editions and its Gujarati version is getting a lot of recognition. Aalok has also edited several books of renowned Urdu poets.
As Poet & Lyricist :
Aalok is the only young poet whose literary works have been given voice by ghazal maestro late Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas, Jaswinder Singh, Sudeep Banerji Singer Shankar Mahadevan, Rekha Bharadwaj, Shaan, Kailash Kher, Richa Sharma, Malini Awasthi, classical singer Ustad Rashid Khan, Shubha Mudgal, legendary bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and many more. He also collaborated with renowned sitarist Anoushka Shankar for the album Traveller which was nominated for Grammy Awards in 2012. He won accolades as a lyricist for the award-winning Indo-American film Patang : The Kite and for the theme song of the film Can't Take This SHIT Anymore. The film won the National Award in the 'Best Film On Social Issue' category. Lyrics in multi-starer movie Vodka Diaries. His album "Eternal" sung and composed by ghazal singer Jaswinder Singh received the AAMA Award for the Best Album Of The Year.
Awards & Regards :
Aalok has been honoured with Dushyant Kumar Award by Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi. He is the youngest poet to receive the International Pushkin Award from Moscow, Russia. He also received the International Poetry Award from the USA at Washington DC. Latest in his list of accolades for poetry is the felicitation at the House of Commons' London of the British Parliament and Firaq Gorakhpuri Award for poetry. Recently he was awarded with Madhya Pradesh Urdu Akademi Award.

Aalok has ventured on literary journeys to more than 20 countries including the USA, UK, Russia, South Africa, Kenya, UAE, Doha-Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and many Arab nations.
